  History & Making Process

Inside-painted handcrafts are made in the northeast of China. They are glass ornaments which have pictures and often calligraphy painted in the inside surface of the glass. These delightful scenes are only an inch or two high and are painted while manipulating the brush through the neck of the bottle maybe only a quarter inch across and also painted in reverse. A skilled artist may complete an elaborate bottle in a week while something special may take a month or more and that the best craftsmen will produce only a few bottles in a year.
In 1980s, this unique artistry has been adapted to dignify many products, such as Christmas baubles. Compared to snuff bottles, the Christmas baubles is simple in design. However, craftsmen attach importance to them because the unique forms of expressions and details will breathe new life into the ancient art.
Each bauble is individually packed in an attractive padded gift box where it can be safely stored from year to year as fresh additions are made to the collection.
